Without electricity or gas: the best tealight ovens for romantic warmth

If you have the time and inclination, you can easily build a tealight oven yourself for a lot less money. We will tell you how it works and what materials you need for it.

  • Terracotta flowerpot Ø 19 cm (Amazon)

  • Terracotta flowerpot Ø 15 cm (Amazon)

  • Terracotta flowerpot saucer Ø 21 cm (Hornbach)

  • Threaded rod (Amazon)

  • 5 x M10 hex nuts (Amazon)

  • 6 construction discs Ø 11 mm x Ø 34 mm (Obi)

  • Union nut M10, length approx. 40 mm (Obi)

  • Acorn nut (Amazon)

You will also need a drill and, if necessary, markers to mark the holes.

This is how it works :

Step 1: Using a size 10 drill bit and the cordless drill/driver, drill a hole in the center of the bottom of the flowerpot and in the saucer. Do not drill with too much pressure, as the material of the pots tears quickly.

Step 2: In the next step, pass the threaded rod through the hole in the coaster, then secure it with a nut and washer on both sides.

Step 3: Then screw the third nut at a distance of about 20 cm as a spacer and place a washer on it. This serves as a support for the first pot. Place the next washer on top and secure it with a nut.

Step 4: In the next step, the threaded connector is inserted first, then a washer again as a support for the second pot. Secure it again with a washer and nut. Finally, thread a cap nut onto the end of the threaded rod.

Step 5: Light the tealight candles and enjoy the warmth.
