Well-known hand cream brands fail the ÖKO-TEST

Seven hand creams fail the test. Many of them contain harmful substances. In addition to mineral oil and paraffins, Beiersdorf’s Atrix professional repair cream also contains fragrances such as citronellol, eugenol and geraniol. The lab did not find any paraffins and the like in L’Oreal’s Mixa Shea Ultra Soft Hand and Nail Cream, but instead there is hydroxycitronellal and an artificial musk scent. Both scents can trigger or promote allergies. Both products are still “inadequate”.

The situation is different with the following 5 hand creams. Here the lab finds a number of critical ingredients. This translates into the worst “insufficient” rating.

  • Bebe Cremedich Intensive hand cream
  • Dove Hand Care Intensive Hand Cream
  • L’Occitane Intense Hand Balm with Shea Butter
  • O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Intensive Care Hand Cream
  • Vasenol Dry Hand Relief

Due to the critical and harmful ingredients, you better keep your hands away from these hand creams in the future. You can read the detailed test with all the results for free on ÖKO-TEST.
