Valorant Game Director Joe Ziegler leaves his role to start a new, secret project at Riot Games

Joe Ziegler, who was part of the Valorant team for eight years and served as game director, has given up his role to work on a new, secret project at Riot Games.

Ziegler shared the announcement on Valorants website, “With a heart full of gratitude and a deep excitement, I come to you today with news.”

“After 8 years of work on VALORANT, which I built from the ground up with a team of dedicated and passionate developers who have worked tirelessly to serve you all with the respect and admiration you deserve, I am giving the game the title Director of the VALORANT tak shooter to my good friend Andy Ho, “said Ziegler.

Ho had the position of Senior Director, Game Direction since June 2017 and Ziegler promises that Valorant will stay in good hands through this transition.

“Andy is someone who I can proudly say that he has invested in VALORANT for many years and whose personal commitment to delivering the highest standards inspires everyone who work with him,” said Ziegler. “He has my full confidence and my full confidence that he will continue to grow and develop VALORANT year after year in order to become even better than I could imagine.

Then he gave a sneak peek of what he’ll be working on next – a new, secret project at Riot Games.

“As far as I’m concerned, I’ll start something new (* wink, secrets …) in the hope that we can even scratch the surface of the amazing effect VALORANT has already had,” said Ziegler.

We already know that Riot Games is working on a fighting game called Project L, a League of Legends MMO, and a mysterious LoL social game called Project F based on one of those previously announced.

Even if he leaves the Valorant team, he will not be far away and always support the game that he helped create.

“But I won’t be far from the game and the team and they will always have my support,” concluded Ziegler, who supported me and my work. You made my time as Game Director a really joyful and unforgettable experience. Much <3. "
