Trae Young reveals his engagement to the college sweetheart with proposal photos

Trae Young and his college mistress are ending 2021 with a vision of walking down the aisle! That’s right, congratulations are in order. Trae and Shelby went from friend to fiancé. The Atlanta Hawks player recently shared photos on Instagram from the moment he filed his application.

Engagement photos

On Thursday evening, Trae published four pictures together with the headline “What a night #FutureMrsYoung”. Most of the photos show the engaged couple posing in front of a blue and white balloon arch. White petals also covered the ground. Floating, burning candles in vases adorned the ends of the balloon arch.

A screen is mounted on the wall behind the smile and the tears of joy. In the first picture, Trae is kneeling in front of Shelby. Obviously surprised, she covers her mouth with one hand.

Trae wears a black pants-jacket combination, paired with white designer shoes and a dark gray t-shirt. His fiancée wore a short black dress with long sleeves and ankle boots.

In another picture, Trae and Shelby are hugging each other. Shelby has an overjoyed smile on her face.

In the remaining two photos, she also shows off her new bling – one next to Trae and the other a close-up of the engagement rock. The ring is oval with a large diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds and a diamond band.

How they met

According to WSB-TV Atlanta, Trae and Shelby met during their enrollment at the University of Oklahoma. They have been a couple since 2017. Shelby was a member of the university’s cheerleading team for some time. Meanwhile, Trae played a season with the Sooners team. In 2018 he joined the university team at the NCAA tournament. In the same year, the Atlanta Hawks picked up the player after a trade in the NBA Draft.

As of Saturday, more than 800,000 people liked Trae’s Instagram announcement.
