There is an ongoing trend in the automotive industry to charge extra to get the best performance out of the vehicle. Swedish electric car manufacturer Polestar is now also offering such an offer, as reported by “The Verge”.
As a result, Polestar 2 owners can purchase a software update that boosts engine output by 68hp. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 4.2 seconds after the update. Polestar charges $1,195 for the extra horsepower.
