The Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration coming to Monster Hunter Rise was revealed in a brand new trailer by Capcom.
Monster Hunter Rise has seen a number of free DLC updates in the past few months that have tried to mix and match the world of Monster Hunter with other gaming franchises. In its most recently revealed collaboration, which can be seen in the trailer (below), the game will be reminiscent of both Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails in a new bundle that launches later this month.
Similar to the game’s previous DLC collaborations, neither Sonic nor Tails will actually appear in the game. Instead, Monster Hunter Rise will use special armor sets that make it feel like both characters have entered the world.
Capcom’s latest DLC, due out November 26th, includes layered Sonic Wear armor for your hunter, as well as a Sonic costume for your trusty Palico and a Canyne Tails costume for your Palamute.
The trailer itself features costumes that players can equip their characters with when the DLC launches later this month. Throughout the clip, the characters can also be seen collecting a series of Sonic-style rings as they venture through different environments in Monster Hunter Rise – although it’s not clear if these will actually be included in the DLC content .
The clip ends with an on-screen ad for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The big expansion to the game is slated for release in the summer of 2022 and will include new monsters, locations, and a new hub for players to explore in-game.
