Tom Holland has said that the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home was rewritten on set itself during the filming of the finale.

In conversation with GQ, explained to Holland that while filming the finale of the upcoming third Spider-Man MCU film, he felt that the script was not up to date. “I kept stopping and saying, ‘I’m so sorry, I just don’t believe what I’m saying.’ ” he said.

Behind the camera, Holland spoke to director Jon Watts about his problems with the script. “We sat down, went through and came up with a new idea,” revealed Holland. “Then we showed it to the writers, they rewrote it, and it works great.”

Such a last-minute rewrite appears to have been just one of many, with GQ reporting that No Way Home was rewritten “almost daily”. Holland told the point of sale, “You could ask the director, ‘What happens in the third act?’ And his answer would be, ‘I’m still trying to figure it out.’ “

Holland’s confidence in fighting a script he felt dissatisfied with apparently stems from years of development and advice from fellow Marvel actors. “I actually learned that from Elizabeth Olsen,” he said. “She gave me amazing advice: ‘No’ is a whole sentence. ‘No’ is enough. “

A new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home just came out, full of characters from across the Spider-Man multiverse. There is a very interesting bug in the Brazilian trailer that could point to a very cool possibility for the story. And if you want more Spider-Man, then Disney plans on delivering a new animated show on Disney +.
