Spider-Man: No Way Home still hasn’t been out for over two weeks, but pre-sale tickets are already off the charts. meeting reports that No Way Home’s first day of pre-sale on Fandango surpassed the 2019 Avengers Endgame, which ended up opening for $ 357 million. No Way Home also passed Black Widow’s pre-sale in just two hours on day one, setting the previous record for 2021.
The pre-sale of No Way Home also hit huge pre-pandemic blockbusters like Avengers: Infinity War, Spider-Man: Far From Home and three recent Star Wars films: The Last Jedi, Rogue One and The Rise of Skywalker.
The numbers mean good things for the film industry’s recovery from COVID-19 as No Way Home tops pre-pandemic pre-sale movie numbers for multiple films. Other MCU films, including Shang-Chi, are also seeing box office hits amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Spider-Man franchise generally pulls in great box office numbers. Far From Home was the top-grossing Spider-Man film to hit the box office, grossing over $ 1.1 billion, making it the 25th highest-grossing film of all time.
The early pre-sale success makes sense for this film, given the anticipation that three generations of Spider-Man characters will come together. In fact, several theater websites crashed after tickets went online yesterday, causing scalpers to sell No Way Home tickets for thousands of dollars.
While Spider-Man star Tom Holland says they treated No Way Home as “the end of a franchise,” we recently learned that Holland will continue as the MCU’s Spider-Man after No Way Home.
