Scooters for children: test winners at Stiftung Warentest
A total of seven scooters work “well”. Four models are “satisfactory”, three are considered “sufficient”. Due to pollutants in the handles or in the running board, two scooters broke down with the rating “bad” (grade 5). Parents should therefore be careful with scooters from Globber and MyHood.
The testers didn’t just test the scooters for harmful substances in the grips. Criteria such as ride characteristics, handling, durability and safety are also included in the overall rating. However, none of the 16 scooters was good enough for the final grade of “very good”.
However, we also noted a critical point with many models rated “good”: only a few children’s scooters are clearly visible in the dark. It is therefore important that you attach reflectors to the scooter and to your child’s clothing. > See reflectors on Amazon
