Samsung Galaxy A53 5G: still reduced shortly before Christmas

The mid-range models of Samsung’s Galaxy A series are very popular alternatives to the high-priced S models of the flagship series, especially thanks to the Galaxy A52 from 2021. With the Galaxy A53 5G, Samsung wants to maintain and expand its popularity in the smartphone middle class. In the test, we like the very good battery life and the chic OLED display. But the very good price-performance ratio also speaks for the A53 5G.

Samsung’s Exynos 1280 processor, accompanied by six GB of RAM, guarantees solid performance in everyday life. A53 5G easily runs all daily apps and applications and casual gaming is also possible. The equipment is also at a good level and convinces above all with an IP67 certification against dust and water ingress – currently still a special feature in this price range.

The clear highlight, however, is the very good battery life. The 5,000 mAh battery easily lasts several days – with daily use. Extreme social media and video consumption can significantly reduce runtime.

Don’t expect miracles when it comes to photo quality. However, the quad-camera setup takes quite respectable photos – which are still good to use even in low light. The A53 records video up to 4K at 30 frames per second.

Software support is also remarkable, as Samsung guarantees four years of new Android updates and five years of security patches.
