Return of the cult mobile phone: Motorola presents the Razr in a new edition

The most powerful smartphone processor currently, an improved 50 megapixel camera, a larger battery and the practical “Ready-For” desktop mode: With these important changes, Motorola presented the third version of the iconic foldable smartphone , now the Razr 22 is called.

The foldable main screen, which folds down in the middle when you close it, offers a proud 6.7-inch (2400 x 1800 pixel) OLED screen, as usual with current flagships. When closed, the Motorola Razr 22 slips into any trouser, skirt or clothing pocket. All important notifications, time, music player control, etc. can be read and selected on the 2.7-inch mini-display.

As you’d expect from a hefty price tag of around $1,200, Motorola uses what’s currently Qualcomm’s best Android smartphone processor. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 comes with either 8 or 12 GB of RAM and should provide excellent performance in the Razr 22 as well. Up to 512 GB of storage space is available.

The dual-camera setup comes with a 50-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. The front camera comes with a 32-megapixel sensor, thanks to which the best selfies can be captured with the main camera. Thanks to the folding mechanism, the front screen can be used as a viewfinder.

The battery is 3,500 mAh strong and should clearly invalidate the previous review of Razr smartphones, the sometimes very poor battery life. Especially since the integrated Snapdragon processor shows very good energy efficiency in other current high-end smartphone tests on our list of the best.
