Not just for cost reasons: why you shouldn’t fall asleep with the heating on

If you wake up in the morning with a mild headache, it may be because your heating is on. The body loses up to 0.75 liters of fluid per night during sleep.

This value becomes even higher when you are in a heated room. Lack of fluids can therefore cause you to wake up with a headache or a feeling of being unwell because the brain is no longer sufficiently supplied with oxygen.

Turn off the heat at night and be sure to stay hydrated during the day during the winter months to avoid nighttime dehydration.
