New competition for Aldi, Lidl and Co.: The supermarket giant takes off in Germany – with a special concept

Aldi, Lidl, Edeka and Co. face new competition in Germany. As the “Lebensmittel Zeitung” reports, the Chinese company Ochama has put its first six collection stations into operation in Germany.

Ochama, a subsidiary of internet giant JD, is pursuing its own concept. There are no traditional branches. Instead, customers pre-order the desired products online. The employees then pick them up and make them available for collection at the desired location.
