Due to the anonymization requirement, there will be more calls with deleted numbers. However, the Federal Network Agency also points out that not all such calls are necessarily suspicious: callers could also decide to block their number for legitimate reasons.

The aim of the new protection measure is that consumers can rely on calls they receive from a German number when the rightful holder of the number is actually on the other end of the line.
