Roommates, according to various media outlets, have reportedly found Malcolm X’s daughter dead in their home. Malikah Shabazz, 56, was found by her daughter at her home in Midwood, Brooklyn, local authorities said.
Local New York Authorities confirmed the sad news that Malikah Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X, was dead at the scene when they arrived just after 4 p.m. New York Police Commissioner Dermot Shea stated that Shabazz’s death did not appear suspicious and there was no sign of foul play.
“At this point, in collaboration with other authorities, the coroner and talking to the family, she was ill for a while. And nothing seems suspicious at this point, ”he said. When asked by reporters whether the police were currently looking for a suspect, he replied “no way”.
Some of Malcolm X’s other family members told the medical staff at the scene that Shabazz may have suffered food poisoning earlier in the day.
