Log splitters achieve enormous pressure (splitting pressure) through their hydraulic system, so they can produce firewood effortlessly. Especially with longer pieces of wood, log splitters are therefore very practical – but not completely harmless. Many log splitters therefore offer protection mechanisms: a cage, for example, prevents pieces of wood from flying, while the two-handed control is intended to prevent the user from accidentally putting their hands in danger.
Nevertheless, caution is always advised when working with a log splitter. You should also wear protective clothing. We recommend:
- non-slip work gloves
- safety glasses
- Steel Toe Work Shoes
