The highly anticipated film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 hits western theaters on March 18, 2022.
The film, which debuted in Japan last December, is finally hitting theaters in the US and Canada. “TOHO Animation’s dark fantasy film will be available in both English dubbing and subtitles,” reads the official announcement. “[It] will be released in more than 1500 theaters nationwide.”
The film will come to the UK and other western territories at a later date.
Based on the hit Jujutsu Kaisen Manga series Jujutsu Kaisen 0 tells the story of Yuta Okkotsu, a nervous high school student who enrolls in the mysterious Tokyo Jujutsu High School after being cursed by his late girlfriend.
In the universe of Jujutsu Kaisen, Curses are monstrosities formed by overwhelming negative emotions. And in this case, the curse of Rika Orimoto haunts poor Yuta. Under the tutelage of his new tutor, Satoru Gojo, Yuta tries to break Rika-chan’s curse while battling the powers of Suguru Geto – a powerful wizard who was expelled from the school for massacring ordinary people.
The film acts as a prequel to the hit TV series and gives us an insight into the history of the powerful Tokyo Jujutsu High School. It’s no surprise that this popular shonen anime is like this inspires fans and critics alike.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is directed by Sunghoo Park, a regular in the Jujutsu Kaisen series, from a screenplay by Hiroshi Seko. Megumi Ogata voices Yuta Okkotsu and is joined by Kana Hanazawa, Mikako Komatsu, Koki Uchiyama, Tomokazu Seki, Yuichi Nakamura, and Takahiro Sakurai.
