We don’t know if the reported Chrono Cross remake is real or not, but if it is, we hope it looks like the cinematic trailer for Chrono Cross and another Eden crossover event, Complex Dream.
The trailer for the nostalgic opening theme Time Scar shows Serge, Kit, Harle and Lynx together with various Another Eden characters in an homage to the original Chrono Cross intro. It’s full of references, including the iconic moment the camera zooms in on Kid’s Eye (with Feinne from Another Eden saying it in here) and Harle’s shot of a full moon.
And damn it, they all look good.
Chrono Cross intro is the kind of video game opening that’s still going strong in 2021, but these shiny, high-quality renditions by Serge and his crew are an exciting portrait of what could especially if this Chrono Cross Remaster is actually real.
While their in-game self has been shrunk to chibi form by Another Eden, the crossover also includes new full-length character art of Serge, Kid, and Harle that are simply to die for:

And finally, there’s this new promo artwork that adds a few more familiar faces like Starky, Glenn, and FATE:
Chrono Cross was released for the PlayStation in 1999, and while it’s dated in many ways, so much of its art and music is breathtaking to this day. The graphics and trailer created for the Another Eden Crossover event give a sense of what could be, and it’s no surprise considering Chrono Cross veterans Masato Kato, Yasunori Mitsuda, and the character designer Nobuteru Yuuki were all involved.
Another Chrono Crossover from Eden is coming out on December 9th, and we spoke with Game Director Daisuke Takeshima before announcing the four-year effort to bring Chrono Cross to the mobile JRPG. Only time scars will tell if this is just a teaser for more Chrono things.
