High water consumption: this is where you can save the most

It is important to use water sparingly, not only for ecological reasons. It is currently cheap, but it could become more expensive in the future. Ecology and price are closely linked here. Indeed, climate change and the associated hot summers and drought have an impact on groundwater levels. In some regions, drinking water is scarce, especially in summer. For this reason, municipalities have had to take measures at times in the past, such as banning the washing of cars with groundwater or the filling of swimming pools with it.

Municipalities and utility companies will have to invest more in the future, for example to build new wells and thus open up new sources of drinking water or to expand plants and elevated reservoirs for water storage. Ultimately, this may also affect consumer prices.
