Halo Infinite’s Big Team Battle mode has been a sore spot for fans for well over a month. Matchmaking queues have been struggling as larger groups have struggled to join matches since early December. Those who make it are often separated.

Today’s Halo Infinite Hotfix was supposed to fix issues related to Big Team Battle, but it didn’t solve them completely. 343 community director Brian Jarrard told Twitter that there had been minor improvements, but acknowledged that the general matchmaking issues persist. The team will continue to work on the issue until matchmaking is stable again.

To compensate players for their troubles, 343 Industries is offering five XP boosts and five challenge swaps for those who log in before February 16th.

However, issues with the Big Team Battle Challenges remain, which can force players to use their challenge swaps faster than usual. Jarrard replied to a users on Twitter who raised this point and said that as the matchmaking issues continue to appear in Big Team Battle, the team is investigating what to do with these types of challenges.

There is currently no timeline as to when there will be more fixes, but hopefully it will be soon as the matchmaking issues started almost a month ago. Meanwhile, developer 343 Industries has also focused on reducing the cost of in-game items.
