With the Pixel 7 Pro, Google has launched one of the best Android smartphones of 2022/23. Above all, the performance, equipment and camera are excellent
The Google Pixel 7 Pro is currently on sale at Amazon for 809 euros
Below you will find a step-by-step guide and an excerpt of the best smartphones in the test
The Google Pixel 7 Pro makes a strong impression in the test: the 6.7-inch OLED display delivers a sharp, crisp image – the performance is first class and the equipment is also at a premium level. The clear highlight are the very nice photos from the triple camera setup on the back (50 Mpixel wide angle, 12 Mpixel ultra wide angle, 48 Mpixel telephoto): in daylight the photos look great and are among the best we’ve had in the test so far, the smartphone market has to offer. However, there are point deductions for night shots, as they look too sharp and only look good on a tripod. Some other high-end smartphones, including the Apple iPhone 14 models, do better – but that’s criticism at a high level.
The Google Pixel 7 Pro (for testing) runs very fast and smooth, everything fits together perfectly. No other Android smartphone can keep up here. That’s the advantage when hardware and software come from the same house. If you remove all Google Assistant restrictions, you get a convenient and fun element of control for smartphones and smart homes via excellent voice recognition. The translation function is also incredibly fast – so normal conversations between different languages can be conducted without annoying delays.
The battery life, on the other hand, remains a small downside. While that’s improved by nearly two hours at 11:54 over the previous model, the competition sometimes manages more here. However, with limited TikTok and YouTube consumption, you can easily get through a day.
