Bob Saget, the popular comedian and star of Full House, has died at the age of 65.
“This morning MPs were called over an unresponsive man in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes,” wrote the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. “The man was identified as Robert Saget and pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators found no evidence of foul play or drug use in this case.”
Just last night, Saget tweeted after his show at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Jacksonville, Florida, saying that he was “happily addicted to that shit” while promoting his website BobSaget.com that has the dates for his I Don’t Do Negative Tour in 2022.
Loved the show tonight @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience. Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins to open. Little did I know I was doing a 2 hour set tonight. I’m happily addicted to this shit again. Check https://t.co/nqJyTiiezU for my appointments in 2022. pic.twitter.com/pEgFuXxLd3

Saget was born Robert Lane Saget on May 17, 1956 in Philadelphia, PA. He had originally hoped to become a doctor, but his Honors English teacher, Elaine Zimmerman, pushed him into a film career.
He attended Temple University Film School and made a black and white film called Through Adam’s Eyes, which earned him an award at the Student Academy Awards. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978 and secured his first role in a short film called Devices in 1980.
He continued to take on smaller gigs like CBS’s The Morning Program until he secured his breakthrough role as Danny Tanner in Full House in 1987. Those who saw him as a healthy family man with just a warm smile may not have realized that in real life, he was all of that, but also quite a raunchy comedian.
Aside from Full House, many will remember Saget as hosting America’s funniest home videos from 1989 to 1997. He played both the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos and Danny Tanner in Full House, while Full House ran until 1995.
Saget also re-enacted his role as Danny Tanner in certain episodes of Fuller House, the sequel series that ran from 2016 to 2020. Other career highlights include himself in Entourage, the role of narrator / older Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother and the role of Matt Stewart in Raising Dad.
As mentioned, he also had a long career as a successful stand-up comedian, known for pushing boundaries with his dirty humor. His comedy album “That’s What I’m Talkin ‘About” was nominated for the 2013 Grammy Award for best comedy album.
Saget leaves behind his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and three children.
