Fines of up to 10,000 euros: These costumes are prohibited at carnival

If you really want to dress up as a character from “Money Heist”, “Squid Game” or in general with a mask, you must also respect the ban on disguises.

It is basically forbidden in Germany to cover your face on the way and at public meetings or other public events that take place outdoors, as well as in traffic, so that everyone can be identified.

Although events like Halloween and Mardi Gras are traditional holidays and can therefore be exempted from the old prohibitions according to the legislator, the face covering is still prohibited in road traffic and can be punished with a fine of 60 euros.

You absolutely must remove your head and face costumes on the way to the carnival party.
