Fallen from the tree: broken Christmas tree balls belong in this trash can

Even today, the colored balls are still mostly made of glass. If a ball fell from the Christmas tree, the shards do not belong to old glass, but to residual waste.

Because these glass decorations have a different composition than bottles or jars and therefore also a different melting point. This could cause problems in producing new glass from old glass. According to the glass recyclers initiative, this also applies to candle glasses and drinking glasses.

In concrete terms, this means that only glass food packaging has its place in the used container or glass bin. Packaging for medicines and skin care such as cough syrup bottles or cream jars can also be placed in the appropriate collection containers. They should be empty, but rinsing is not necessary.
