Effective against perspiration and odor: Deodorant test winner at Stiftung Warentest

In addition to shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and the like, almost everyone has deodorant in the bathroom and uses it every day. But is it really helpful against armpit odor and wetness? Stiftung Warentest experts examined 19 deodorant sprays, including well-known brands such as Nivea or Rexona, natural cosmetics, but also own-brand products from Aldi and Lidl.

1st place was obtained with a “good” rating (2.5) for Sebamed Fresh Deo Fresh (look dm). The test category “Armpit sweat protection” was included in the overall score with a weighting of 60% – and scored significantly better than the competition. Another plus point: you don’t have to dig too deep into your pocket to find the test winner. Although the Sebamed product is not one of the cheap own brands, it is not overpriced at 3.25 euros for 150 ml.

The opinion of Stiftung Warentest on Sebamed Fresh Deodorant Fresh:

  • Underarm odor protection: good (2.5)
  • Application: Satisfactory (2.7)
  • Usability of packaging: good (2.3)
  • Advertising statement and claims: good (2.4)

Note: Stiftung Warentest’s test was published for the May 2021 issue. The test included 19 deodorant sprays.
