One of the most famous pop musicians of the 2000s is going to somehow join Pokémon Go. That person is the English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.
Ed Sheeran HQ’s Twitter account has revealed that there will soon be some kind of crossover between the singer and the Pokémon Go mobile game. The game’s official account then retweeted it with an eye emoji and confirmed the collaboration.

No further details have been released on this, so it’s unclear what Ed Sheeran will be like in Pokémon Go. The simplest guess would be that he wrote and performed music for the game. Who knows? Ed is definitely coming. He’s worked on other projects like Game of Thrones and Rise of Skywalker, but unlike Pokémon Go, those were acting roles.
The last update with Pokémon Go was in September when Niantic announced new in-person dates for Safari Live events. They were originally supposed to be withheld in 2020 but have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pokémon Go was also in the news because Niantic planned to reduce the interaction radius of PokeStops and gyms related to the pandemic. However, after an outcry from fans, Niantic decided to go back on this and keep the interaction radius at 80 meters instead of 40.
