The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition outperforms the competition and takes the top spot in the rankings.
The Amazon Kindle model has excellent book turning and loading performance. In the test, it took just 0.4 seconds to turn a page in an e-book.
The new Kindle e-reader is equipped with 32 GB of memory. The 6.8-inch screen is beautifully crisp thanks to a high resolution of 1264 x 1680 pixels – the screen looks like paper.
With a sensational battery life of over 100 hours of backlit playback, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition shows the competition where the hammer is. And if the e-book reader runs out of battery, the device can be fully recharged via cable in about 126 minutes. The Kindle device also scores points in terms of equipment: automatic dimming light and wireless charging are possible, and the casing is water resistant according to IPX8 standard.
But the test winner also has its weaknesses, albeit small ones here: We didn’t like the missing haptic keyboard and the reliance on the Amazon store when choosing an e-book.
