Dyson simply wows the competition: Hairdryer test winner at Stiftung Warentest
Stiftung Warentest reviewed hair dryers in issue 1/2023. Experts tested a total of 14 ion-function hair dryers and assessed criteria such as drying, styling, safety and handling. No less than nine models were rated “good” in the test, but no hair dryer received the maximum rating of “very good”. The bad news: Five devices fail the test with a “poor” rating. Among the losers are well-known brands such as Remington, Babyliss and Beurer. But there is also good news: for example, all models are free of harmful substances.
The Dyson Supersonic took first place with a “good” rating (1.7 rating). It dries well, is easy to use and clean, and in terms of durability it impresses all along the line: for the durability test, the devices were subjected to an endurance test of 400 hours, with operation in alternating 15 minutes at maximum temperature and fan level with a nozzle followed by a 10 minute cooling break. During a drop test, the testers also dropped the hair dryer three times from a height of 120 centimeters onto the tiled floor. The Dyson Supersonic masters these tests with flying colors and earns the top score of 1.0.
