Bandai Namco released its Dragon Ball: The Breakers announcement trailer last week. Unlike previous Dragon Ball games, in which various Super Saiyan beings compete in grueling hand-to-hand combat, the publisher’s latest game takes a slightly different approach to gameplay.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers First screenshots

The Breakers is an asymmetrical online multiplayer game in which players are assigned either as a raider (Cell, Buu or Frieza) or as one of seven very common beings who try to run, hide and maneuver their raider opponent . In addition to being able to run and flee like headless chickens, the game’s seven survivors can work on customizable skill trees, weapons, and more to cooperatively evade raider’s grip on them before they are blown up and fragmented.

In addition to announcing the dates for the closed beta, Bandai Namco released an eleven-minute video for the game (see below) that sheds more light on the premise of the game and what players can expect when it is released. The release of Dragon Ball: The Breakers for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC is currently planned for 2022. The game will also be available through Backward Compatibility on Xbox Series X | S and PS5.
