Detergent at Stiftung Warentest: the discounter beats branded products

Expensive brands are anything but necessary for cleaning laundry – at least that’s what the detergent test from Stiftung Warentest shows. The test winner is not a well-known brand product, but comes from the shelves of a discounter.

It is the detergent test winner of Stiftung Warentest Tandil Ultra Plus Powerful Detergentfrom Aldi North (1.8th grade) (see at Aldi North). “Good” ratings are in almost every category. Aldi laundry detergent is only “good enough” when it comes to fabric protection. You don’t have to dig too deep into your wallet to get the test winner from Stiftung Warentest. The 2.025 kg bag of the test-winning laundry detergent costs around 4.85 euros.

The judgment of the Stiftung Warentest on the strong detergent Tandil Ultra Plus in detail:

  • Washing performance: good (1.7)
  • Textile protection: satisfactory (2.9)
  • Declaration: good (1.6)
  • Environmental characteristics: good (1.7)

Note: Stiftung Warentest’s test was published for the November 2021 issue. The test included 24 heavy-duty detergents.
