Big Ant posted a statement on Twitter earlier this week confirming that the game will be postponed from November 25th to December 2nd. “Unfortunately, factors beyond our control have resulted in the need to update the game cover, other graphics, and team lists. “Confirmed the studio on Twitter before confirming the game’s new release date.

The incident between Paine and his former colleague is said to have occurred back in 2017. Following an investigation in 2018, Paine was acquitted of wrongdoing by Cricket Tasmania, which found the incident between the cricketer and his colleague to be “amicable”. However, after it became known that the lyrics were about to be released publicly, Paine resigned as captain of the Australian men’s cricket team last week.
Per BBCPaine said afterwards, “Although I was exonerated, I deeply regretted that incident then and still do it today.” Although Paine is no longer captain of the team, he will take part in the team’s upcoming Ashes Trials against England in December.
After announcing the game’s delay, Big Ant has confirmed that Australian cricket colleague Pat Cummins will replace Paine on the cover. Cummins will join alongside Meg Lanning, the captain of the Australian team already ready for the cover.
