Coffee beans: winners and losers at ÖKO-TEST

The test result shows that consumers need to dig a little deeper into their pockets for fairly marketed and produced coffee.

But: The overall rating “very good” only allows for a Gepa roast. Of the The test winner costs around 27 euros per kilogram – not only does it do well in the taste test, but also scores “very good” for ingredients and Fairtrade rating.

But cheaper products can also give satisfactory results: Lidl, Edeka as well as Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd obtain an overall rating of “satisfactory”.

However, well-known brands such as Lavazza, Segafredo or Mövenpick failed to convince in the test. They only rate “insufficient”.
