Classic even better: Microsoft is secretly adding an ingenious feature

First install the free Microsoft PowerToys on your system. The thin collection of tools requires almost no resources and offers many functions – you will find the corresponding icon in the taskbar after restarting the PC.

You can start the text extractor simply with the following key combination:

  • Windows key + Shift + T

This will bring up a small crosshair on your screen. All you have to do is frame the area with the mouse that you want the snipping tool to capture.

You can also use the Shift key to re-adjust the recording area. The text contained in the image is automatically copied to the clipboard. It also works very reliably with long texts.
