The CHIP Banking Browser is characterized above all by its ease of use. Once launched, all you need to do is click on the “Enable Safe Browsing” button and you are ready to search for your local bank’s website. We have already included a shortlist of the best known sites for you. If the correct address is not there, enter for example “Sparkasse Berlin” in the search field, and a new tab will open in the browser with the search results. Thanks to the integrated anti-phishing protection, you avoid being scammed.
Then copy the link in the first tab and click “Add”. You can also click the bookmark icon in the top right corner of the bank page for quick access in the future. You can now connect to your bank securely.
Your input can be additionally protected if you activate the on-screen keyboard. Simply click on the corresponding numbers and letters on the screen when logging in or making transfers. This way, keyloggers have no chance to secretly record your keystrokes and possibly get your account information.
In addition, the browser can also be used as a secure alternative for more privacy, since all personal data and session cookies are deleted when it is closed. It’s behind the “Safe Shutdown” dialog that appears at the end.
