Beaten Milka, Ritter Sport & Co.: The chocolate test winner at Stiftung Warentest

Whether with nuts, nougat, bittersweet white or simply classically sweet: many people consider chocolate a cute sin. People usually head to the candy aisle on the motto: what you know ends up in your basket. But there are plenty of delicious and equally cheap chocolate alternatives hidden on the shelves, like this one great test by Stiftung Warentest noted.

The experts examined a total of 24 chocolate bars. Particular attention has been paid to the taste, appearance and consistency of the chocolate. The chocolates have also been examined in the laboratory for germs, bacteria and harmful substances. There you have it: branded products aren’t always the best.

Because alongside the Milka, Ritter Sport and Lindt top dogs, there are lesser-known manufacturers that even beat the chocolate giants when it comes to taste. Best of all, the winner of Stiftung Warentest’s big chocolate test costs just one euro per 100g and even scores points with a Fairtrade label and a guarantee to plant a tree in Mexico for every five bars sold. Here you can treat yourself without a guilty conscience.
