Batgirl: Leslie Grace shares the first picture of her suit from the upcoming DC movie

Leslie Grace has shared a picture of herself as Batgirl in the upcoming DC movie, which will tell the superhero’s origin story.

Grace shared the image on Twitter, along with a caption taken directly from Batgirl, Year One.

“I use their expectations against them. That will be their weakness. Not mine. Make me underestimate them all,” Grace wrote. “And when their vigilance drops and their pride rises, let me kick their ass.”

Her suit appears to be inspired by Batgirl comics, specifically the Batgirl of Burnside issue by Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher, Babs Tarr and Maris Wicks.

Batgirl is due out on HBO Max in 2022 and will be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Also starring alongside Grace are Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman, JK Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon, Brendan Fraser as Garfield Lynns/Firefly and Jacob Scipio in an undisclosed role.

Birds of Prey’s Christina Hodson wrote the screenplay and previously spoke about how Batgirl will explore a time when Barbara Gordon comes to terms with who she is and who she is destined to become.

“What’s weird about Barbara [Gordon] and Batgirl is that in this story she discovers Batgirl for the first time,” explained Hodson. “So she’s exploring a duality that she’s always had in her personality, but it’s this whole new side of her personality, a side that’s more daring and a little less normal side of her that we can just have fun and play with.” .”

Grace previously starred as Nina Rosario in In the Heights and this will be her first appearance in the DCEU.

2022 will also see Batgirl appear in WB Games Montreal’s Gotham Knights, where she will fight alongside Nightwing, Robin and Red Hood to save Gotham after the apparent death of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
