Atlanta Season 3 Announces Long Overdue Premiere Date

Hulu has finally announced the Atlanta premiere date. Filming for the Donald Glover-created comedy-drama series was completed in August, but a premiere date has not yet been set.

FX’s John Landgraf said back in August that the third season is in a lengthy post-production phase as the fourth season is in production and all the scripts for it have already been written.

Both seasons three and four were scheduled to air in 2021, but production has reportedly been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Landgraf said one of the reasons for the silence around a premiere date was Hiro Murai and Donald Glover’s schedules. However, he did mention that Atlanta would be returning in the first half of 2022.

It looks like that promise has come true and fans can look forward to a brand new season of Atlanta next March. Atlanta’s second season premiered in 2018 so it’s been almost 4 years. It got quite a buzz considering the show’s Twitter account was relatively quiet and only a short teaser last month – his first post in 2021.

In the meantime, check out IGN’s Atlanta review, which got an 8/10.
