Andrew Garfield trying to promote a movie he’s starring in (tick, tick … boom!) While dodging questions about a movie he’s not announced for (Spider-Man: No Way Home) , recently announced that Tobey Maguire is his favorite Spider Man.

“Tobey is my favorite, isn’t it? Because that’s my childhood, “says Garfield in a Video for GQ. This was in response to a commenter who suggested Tom Holland was the best Spider-Man because he can play both Peter Parker and Spider-Man well. Whereby Maguire was a better Peter Parker and Garfield was just a better Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man actor replied, “Cool. That’s your opinion, brother. Climb a Tree ”before revealing his favorite Spider-Man.

“I think I saw the first Spider-Man movie with my friend Terry McGinnis three times in a row and we were just incredibly high and we’d love to have the lines.”

In a separate interview with ET Canada, discovered by Comic book, Garfield again praised Maguire for being the original, but also Holland and the MCU team for delivering a version of the character that leads with soul. “It’s a very diplomatic way of telling everyone I love everyone who ever is [played Spider-Man]. “

Garfield played Spider-Man in two films between 2012 and 2014 before restarting the franchise with Tom Holland. However, villains from Garfield’s tenure like Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Lizard will appear in Holland’s third film, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

With the Multiverse at stake, many speculate that both Maguire and Garfield will appear in the film as alternate versions of Spider-Man. But Marvel won’t say a word about whether this is true. Garfield himself has provided several responses, calling the rumors “hilarious” to tell people that a cameo of his “is not anything I know”.

While we wait until the movie’s official release to see for ourselves who actually shows up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, check out the breakdown of IGN’s latest trailer and see why the movie is so on Spider-Man Villain is focused.
