A Bug Delayed Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla’s Christmas Event in January

Getting put on the naughty list could result in Christmas being canceled, but for video game NPCs and gamers it seems that a simple mistake can at least result in it being delayed. At least that’s the case with the Yule-themed update of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is still pending for some players in the game.

As reported by Eurogamer, the Christmas celebrations, which were supposed to start over the holidays, have unfortunately been delayed for many players due to a bug in the game. The mistake appeared to mainly affect players who had attended the festive event shortly after Valhalla launched the year before.

Fortunately, however, Ubisoft has now announced that today’s patch for the title update will fix the issue for all players, who can now continue the in-game celebrations until January 27th, when the event is due to end.

During Christmas in Valhalla, players can collect a range of cosmetics and take part in a range of side activities, including drunken brawls, archery challenges, and more. Throughout the period, players should notice a number of changes to the Ravensthorpe settlement, which currently features Christmas decorations and a snowier environment.

While the in-game celebrations continue for a few more weeks, fans can look forward to the next expansion of the title. Announced by Ubisoft last month, Valhalla’s next story-based add-on, Dawn of Ragnarök, will be released on March 10th. It takes Eivor further into the realm of Norse mythology and takes on the role of the god Odin.

“In Dawn of Ragnarok, players will experience what [it] feels like a god, “said Mikhail Lozanov of Ubisoft Sofia.” Harnessing the power of vanquished enemies is one of the major new features in the expansion. “You can watch the Dawn of Ragnarok announcement trailer below.
